An inner city elopement - teagan & brad

Newcastle East
Wednesday13th April 2022

When Monty from Holy Matrimonty called to ask if I'd photograph Teagan & Brad's elopement at Coal & Cedar, without knowing any details I immediately said yes. I love anything out of the box, and LOVE photographing in the city surrounded by historical buildings and architecture.

Chatting with Teagan before the day, she had a list of places she wanted to do their portraits. Among them was Tyrrell House and Newcastle train station, two historical building ten minutes apart, with tonnes of beautiful portrait options in between.

We met at Tyrrell House where Monty and Brad's parents joined us. Brad & Teagan both work in defence and don't have family in Newcastle. Brad's parents flew in to watch these two tie the knot (officially) then a week later they did it all over again in Teagan's hometown in front of her friends and family. We walked together for a few minutes for a quick family photo session before scooting off to Coal & Cedar to do the deed.

After downing a couple of cocktails (Brad's mum was on her 4th by the time the ceremony was starting, like a legend) Monty announced it was time to get the ball rolling. In a quiet corner of a secret bar on Wednesday 13th of April 2022, these guys became husband and wife in the most emotional, beautiful ceremony I've ever witnessed. Monty, has a way of bringing more laughs and tears then I knew I had inside me and I'm so lucky to not only work with him but call him a friend.

A couple more cocktails later we hit the streets to finish off their portraits, missing the rain by minutes as we ran back to Coal & Cedar to say our goodbyes.

Teagan & Brad, thank you so much for letting Monty force me upon you and letting me into your lives for a day. I love you both x
