This shoot was a little creative outlet for myself, to shoot and edit however I like with no expectations of the final product.
I had been wanting to do a shoot like this for a while. I'm not sure what brought it on, but I ran with it. While I love shooting weddings, they're very structured (and a little stressful). There's a lot of expectation of what you're supposed to photograph and how it's meant to look, so doing little shoots like this are super fun because there are no rules at all, no pressure, no right or wrong.
Now, for the Pièce de résistance... Baylee O'brien.
I have photographed Baylee a few times. First for a charity nude calendar, second for a boudoir shoot she did for her husband Alex, and third, for me. Baylee is my forever muse. She is so cool, funny, beautiful, confident, comfortable in her skin. She is everything. One of my best friends and an amazing florist (Bayleaf Florals eat your heart out)
When I asked her to get naked on a beach just for the sake of it, she was all for it. It was one of the funniest mornings of my life. We didn't start too early for the sake of Baylee not freezing to death so there were a couple of people out and about, including a cute old man and his dog who so conveniently had to turn around and come past again right where we were.
Not planning on getting wet myself, I didn't bother with waterproof housing for my camera. That was until a wave knocked me off my feet out of nowhere and decided to try and drown me in the middle of the ocean. Little old me scrambling for dear life under the waves, holding my arm as high in the air as possible trying to save my camera from the water, absolutely pissing myself in fear. Photos turned out cute though, so whatever.
Feast your eyes on the beauty that is, Baylee...
